Overview

You will fill a critical role in our client’s technology department, responsible for applying chemometrics and advanced data analytics to the development and manufacture of advanced industrial composition and property analyzers based on Raman spectroscopy.

Location: based in Michigan

Duties Include:

  • Design, implement, deploy, and test the entire spectroscopy analysis pipeline workflow with a focus on generation, modeling, aggregation, interrogation, visualization, and interpretation of high-quality, voluminous, and multispectral data
  • Develop, adapt, customize, and productize advanced algorithms to extract compositional, characteristic, and morphological information from Raman spectroscopy
  • Use output analytics, chemometric modeling, and other data-wrangling methods to guide, support, and advance the development and manufacture of novel analyzer products
  • Create strategic product development plans based on market-driven requirements, using the output of chemometric modeling and data analysis to guide the development and manufacture of software and hardware analyzer products
  • Provide requirements, algorithm support, and tolerancing analysis to software and hardware engineering teams
  • Support manufacturing and quality assurance teams with tolerancing and troubleshooting
  • Support service teams by addressing problems with field analyzers

Requirements:

  • BS degree or higher in Chemistry, Physics, Data Science, or related discipline
  • 2+ years experience with quantitative data analysis in areas such as chemistry, physics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, and spectral analysis
  • 2+ years software coding experience using Python and/or C, C++, C#.
  • Good understanding of spectroscopic methods, specifically vibrational spectroscopy (Raman, FTIR, NIR)
  • 2+ years experience with classical chemometric approaches and techniques (DOE, PLS, PCA, etc)
  • Experience in an industrial/academic setting applying chemometric techniques to solve data-analytic problems using spectroscopic analyzers. Or same amount of time at an instrument manufacturer using techniques on analyzer development projects
  • Experience in data cleaning, scrubbing, interpolation, extrapolation, and general data wrangling
